My uni's in a strongly Jewish area, so we get both Jewish and Christian holidays off. It's pretty sweet. Classes started the day after the day after Labour Day (so, the Wednesday) and we're lucky enough in how the holidays fell that we had a week of class and then a four-day holiday. And in a few weeks it'll be Thanksgiving, so we'll have that off, too.

I guess it's why we don't have a fall break. We just eaaaaaaase into the year and then work like gangbusters for nine straight weeks.
