charloween: (Ianto has a plan)

Oh, Torchwood. Whatever mojo got worked on you in your year-long hiatus, damn it worked well.

Ianto's personality is developing nicely (the cheeky bastard!). Beth's drawer number was 007 (heh!). And the plot? A decent plot, at that. I'm actually enjoying scenes with Gwen and Jack, 'cause they've got the bleeding heart/heartless routine worked out, and it seems natural to the characters now. I think even the music is better this season.

Well done, show! Well done indeed.

Oh, sweetie. Welcome to the big time - and the love that is Torchwood. There are only a few episodes in the first season that are required viewing, and then only because this season looks so much better by comparison. Did the smattering include Owen's fight club episode and the episode in WW2?

Here (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LS9TKHNR) is TW 2x02; I uploaded it for a friend (if you need it).

(Have you seen The Mighty Boosh (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_mighty_boosh)? It seems like something that would be up your alley.)

NO I can tell you it most definitely DID NOT include a fight club episode omgomgomg. I only caught a few episodes on CBC friday nights when I wasn't working. That is something I will have to see asap.

I have seen TMB-- my best friend is actually obsessed with it. I love Noel Fielding like burning but I'm not super big on sketch comedy. It can be HILARIOUS at the right times though.

And I will definitely snag that episode when I'm all caught up with season three of Supernatural. I've got 3x07 and 3x08 to go!

Hee! Did you at least see the one with the people from the 1940s and the pilot that Owen fell in love with? 'Cause in the next episode, he eventually attempts suicide-by-Weevil (in a cage match!). Before that, though, he's posing as a rich young businessman who's disaffected and bored. Laaaah. It's (I think) the third-last episode of the season. Good ol' CBC, eh? Good to know our tax $$ go to make Torchwood and Doctor Who.

Actually, the last four episodes of the season are kind of required Owen viewing, as the noted playboy falls in love, deals with loss, and does fantastically stupid things because he's an emotional cripple. *pats Owen*

I was particularly impressed by NF's appearance on this year's Big Fat Quiz of the Year. (Okay, I just liked his cape.)

SPN is defeating me. I saw the first ep and then schoolwork ate my brain, except for the parts that could watch British quiz shows. Is the season going well?

Okay, I am starting to think this boy has been package-made for maximum Emily-love. I've seen the finale and I've seen the first episode, the one with Ianto cyborg lady-friend and ehhhh it gets fuzzy from there. There are episodes on my new boyfriend QuickSilverScreen.com so perhaps I will have some catching up to do.

Anything to fill the void of the writer's strike-- thank god for British programs. Noel and Russell Brand seem to have banded together for ultimate fluid-sexuality tinged hilariousness.

It's been a rough start for SPN-- I haven't been super impressed with it as far as I've seen but apparently it pulls together for the last two they've aired-- which I have yet to see.

Zounds! You haven't seen the better episodes, then. I humbly suggest you use these WGA strike days to enjoy TW highlights.

The second-to-last episode ("Captain Jack Harkness") is the best of the bunch. It's a superb Jack episode. Great Owen as well, but only understandable as fallout from the two previous eps. (Continuity! Who knew!) The only one I would recommend you run far, far away from is the one about the fairies. Jack doesn't like fairies. Fairies aren't aliens. Also, Jack really doesn't like fairies. There, it's like you've seen the episode!

for ultimate fluid-sexuality tinged hilariousness.
And hair. :)

And SPN might have to wait until I have a free weekend. So... April?

Now that Ianto's gotten bitchy, I think I'm falling in love with him. It's just...Ianto. *Bitchy.* ♥

And next week looks like a Tosh episode! With *another* more-interesting-than-ridiculous plot! Will wonders never cease???

I know! Suddenly he's gone from a quiet background character to a tightly-would control freak with a finely-honed sense of ironic self-parody. Where did all that come from?!

The only thing holding me back about jumping up and down at the next episode is that I'm too busy rolling my eyes at another foray into Tosh's tragic love life. If that's what it's about, anyway. On the other hand, these past two episodes have been so fantastic, I'll consider being cautiously optimistic. :)
