Dear Goo Goo Dolls,

Re: Pandora.com's giant computer brain and the mysteries of the internet.

I haven't listened to you in years. Since, perhaps, 2001. However. You soft-rock my world.

Omg♥,

Me.

statler & waldorf ftw

[identity profile] shady-lane.livejournal.com 2007-04-03 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
I would never throw tomatoes at a friend! I'm more like those grumpy old guys in the balcony on The Muppet Show.

[identity profile] naturelf.livejournal.com 2007-04-03 02:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, so rather than a direct confrontation, you wait in the wings and mercilessly heckle whoever's on stage? :(

Re: statler & waldorf ftw

[identity profile] firstgold.livejournal.com 2007-04-05 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
My boss kinda resembles Sam the Eagle.

Re: statler & waldorf ftw

[identity profile] naturelf.livejournal.com 2007-04-08 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Sam is a bit scary. My English prof this term looked like he was designed by Hensons. All floppy and with scary eyebrows and wild hair.

[identity profile] naturelf.livejournal.com 2007-04-03 02:33 pm (UTC)(link)
There was an almost-Joss by me on the subway up to Downsview this morning. :)

Obviously, I haven't been watching enough TV if I see these people all around me. I'm so starved for TV that I try to make TV for myself wherever I go. Yes. That's exactly it.

I saw a Blue Nissan Versa on the road today when I was driving around town for work.

[identity profile] naturelf.livejournal.com 2007-04-08 02:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I wonder how many of those cars Nissan's sold since Heroes premiered?

[identity profile] firstgold.livejournal.com 2007-04-16 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
I wonder about the demand for old Impalas (especially black ones) too.

[identity profile] naturelf.livejournal.com 2007-04-16 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
The supply for the Nissans would be easier to fill, if anything. I'd probably go for a Nissan with a toy Impala keychain because the Nissan's probably more fuel efficient.

[identity profile] firstgold.livejournal.com 2007-04-18 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
I can safely say that it is more fuel efficient, not to mention that it has a catalytic converter and the Impala probably doesn't and the Impala belches all kinds of nasty exhaust into the atmosphere, while the Versa doesn't so much.

[identity profile] naturelf.livejournal.com 2007-04-18 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
And power steering, and heated seats, and a CD player... yeah. Go green or go Dean: tough question.

[identity profile] firstgold.livejournal.com 2007-04-21 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
Well, if the Impala came with its very own Dean Winchester, then I'm pretty sure it is obvious what choice I would make :D

[identity profile] naturelf.livejournal.com 2007-04-21 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
TRUE. But what if the Versa had a Hiro and/or Ando?

[identity profile] butterflyishida.livejournal.com 2007-04-03 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
i love me some Goo Goo dolls. they're like the patron band for one of my characters

[identity profile] naturelf.livejournal.com 2007-04-03 02:35 pm (UTC)(link)
They're nice and fun. *nods*

bourgeois fluff

[identity profile] shady-lane.livejournal.com 2007-04-03 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
The Replacements called. They want their music back.

Meh.

Appropriation is the soul of creation.

This afternoon's Pandora-enabled Fun With Mainstream?

i'll take that anyday over this pop-punk refuse

[identity profile] shady-lane.livejournal.com 2007-04-03 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
What next? Sixpence None the Richer? Better than Ezra? Sugar Ray?

[identity profile] naturelf.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
See, the computer in the FASAM centre isn't so hot with wiping cookies after you log out, so even if you've restarted the machine it'll remember your logins. So I come back one day, and my colleague has added another few stations to my pandora account. That's where all this 90s pop-rock is coming from. (He's actually scary, because he doesn't listen to anything from later than 1999.)

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

It's what I've been saying for years

[identity profile] vans-angel.livejournal.com 2007-04-03 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I effing love the Goo Goo Dolls and I'm not even really sure why.

[identity profile] naturelf.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
I know! They're just... listen-to-able.

[identity profile] vans-angel.livejournal.com 2007-04-06 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
My favourite song of theirs is "Slide". I hated it when it was originally released. Go figure.

"grooving" and "digging" my GOD what happened to my ability to communicate?

[identity profile] naturelf.livejournal.com 2007-04-08 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm really grooving on "Here Is Gone", but I gave "Slide" another listen and I'm digging it, too.

[identity profile] dapikkel.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
pandora.com sounds like interesting. perhaps I'll start investigating after I put my CDs on my computer finally?

[identity profile] naturelf.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
Pandora.com is internet radio so it comes to you streamed. Nothing to download or rip, it just runs (on flash?) from the site. It's pretty fun, and plays a good mix of known and unknown artists.

cookies or lewd mathematical diagrams accepted

[identity profile] dapikkel.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
I've more done live365 in past, but I'll check out the pandora thing... MAYBE. If you give me incentive.

As close to option B as I can get on short notice

Hmm... possibly not work-safe. I'll check that when I get back home tonight AFTER A NIGHT OF WILD PARTYING YEAH. And great music.

[identity profile] naturelf.livejournal.com 2007-04-08 02:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Woot blank comment.

[identity profile] dapikkel.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
Man. That first one comes so close that I'm tempted to count it. You are on the way to becoming an Internet Ninja, my prodigy.

[identity profile] naturelf.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 04:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey hey hey... I'll have you know that for two full years this university has been employing me for my Intarwebs Kung Fu mastery. If anything, I should be calling you "grasshopper", young grasshopper. :P
