Happy Xmas, everyone!

I'm trapped at my grandmother's place with a bunch old grey-haired oldies, wishing my brother didn't have to work today and tomorrow (in Belleville, 2 hours away), wishing I had relatives (other than my brother) under the age of 50 and waiting to get back to my parents' place so I can hop on a torrent for this year's Doctor Who Christmas special. Kylie Minogue, the Titanic and David Tennant. The anticipation, I can cut it with a knife. I've promised the brother I won't watch it without him, so I'm really looking forward to him coming home. I might take a quick peek, though. Just a little peek.

The big excitement so far was trying to figure out the name of the moose-in-a-dress figure. I hid for a while and worked on my thesis.

On the up side, dinner was excellent. This year, we had Christmas quiche.

Presents tomorrow. Possible [livejournal.com profile] psychomax tomorrow, too. Brother and new DW and turkey and turnips tomorrow.

Happy Xmas, everyone, and here's hoping Santa was good to you. :D

so I can hop on a torrent for this year's Doctor Who Christmas special. Kylie Minogue, the Titanic and David Tennant.

I... What?

Um, Merry Christmas. :)

Hell yeah. Kylie Minogue in a maid's outfit, no less. Merry Christmas, indeed.

I'm probably over-excited about this episode, but they've been dropping hints over the past three seasons about when the Doctor ended up clinging to an iceberg after the Titanic sank. Thing is, some of those references were made in a previous incarnation, so there's a whole pile of in-jokes and internal continuity to watch for. (No, not a geek. Not at all. *hangs head*)

Alas, I'm trapped at my mother's house with my mother's internet connection. Alas, alas. Not that I could watch it before my brother got home. Still.

Doctor Who: it's the good crack.

I have to wait to get the torrent when I'm back in Guelph at my computer. *sigh* That means I have to wait until Sunday.

Merry Christmas!!

Well... this one is downloading sloooooooowly, but will have arrived by lunch tomorrow. If you'd like to see it before Sunday, you're welcome to pop by for tea and DW. Mum and I will be happy to see you, feed you, and watch British TV with you. :D

I may attempt to grab the episode at some point this week, because I think the suspense will get to me. Means I can also show the ep to my dad :D

I don't know if I'll be able to make it - the only day I have free now is Saturday, and my mom and I have to work on Leslie's wedding present. Thanks for the offer though!

It's up on That Comm You Know The One, but only with megaupload AND split, which means I may as well just use the torrent file.

However. It's up and available for the grabbing. And watching it with your Dad would be super-special. Do it!

I suppose watching Dr Who with the elderly is not fun?

I honestly can't imagine it- it just keeps turning into a Monty Python drag sketch...

[identity profile] naturelf.livejournal.com 2007-12-29 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, not watching it with them. It would be an exercise in patience - patience that I don't have. I'd have to keep pausing to repeat dialogue and explain things, and put up with a constant stream of sighs and comments about how it's just not their thing.

Less drag sketch and more waste of everyone's time.
