To get to my 8:30am class, I have to:
- go to bed before 11pm the night before if there's any hope of being functional the next morning
- wake up at bloody early o'clock (ie. when it's still dark)
- stumble around throwing fruit cups and granola bars in a bag to eat in class because it's still bloody early o'clock and that's far too early to eat
- leave home by 7am and shuffle (as would a zombie) to the streetcar stop (in winter, this happens when it's still dark out)
- spend a minimum 75 minutes on public transit, during which time the sun rises
- fall off the bus, blink at the barely pre-dawn "daylight" and propel self to the Centre for Film and Theatre cafeteria-thing (the one that sells potato pizza for lunch!)
- obtain coffee (sweet mana of life)
- shuffle to class, dig out breakfast, consume coffee and let the lecture go in one ear and out my pen without actually hitting my brain

EXCEPT for today, when all the above was completed on time EXCEPT THE PROFESSOR WAS SICK SO CLASS WAS CANCELLED, ARGH. Luckily I could head to work early and be productive and get paid so the time isn't wasted, but *still*... *sob*.

Why there is WIN:
1. watched Grizzly Man and Brick tonight; two excellent films, excellent in different ways and for different reasons, but still a decent film geek double bill
2. almost finished the Damn Afghan (tm); six more rows of the last piece, and the rest is already half-quilted
3. dinner = pea soup
4. managed to hit the grocery store *and* the library on my way home
5. got complimented on my summary of "Why Bruce Elder's films are the antithesis of documentary" in FILM 4700
6. remembered to *actually enroll* in FILM 4700 about five mintues ago
7. my amazon.com order (textbooks!) arrived a day before it was supposed to
8. demonstrated considerable ebay-fu and bought the first season box set of Forever Knight for $33 CDN
9. made good use of my time when class this morning was cancelled and got to sit in on a major planning meeting for the upcoming recruitment publishing cycle
10. finally decided what kind of frames to look for when I get off my ass to go glasses-shopping ([livejournal.com profile] amyisyellow, you still up for that?)
ETA: 11. discussion of Snape nipple-tweaking Harry Potter in European Cinema class Monday afternoon; it was our *prof* who brought it up (♥ film school)
