[personal profile] firstgold tagged me with this on FB, but I choose to reply there. (Ooh, rebel.)

Have you read more than 6 of these books? Someone (maybe the BBC, maybe not) believes most people will have read only 6 of the 100 books listed here. Instructions: Copy this into your NOTES. Bold those books you've read in their entirety, italicize the ones you started but didn't finish or read an excerpt. Tag other book nerds. Tag me as well so I can see your responses!

Here's the list. ) (like, three times. Unabridged. LOL.)

That makes 43 read, and a dozen or so classic works I stopped reading at the second chapter because there's more to life than Reading Classic Books.

Sure, you deserve one. You helped popularized lolcats from a running gag to an online sensation. Now mainstream media writes asinine columns on this 'phenomenon', students write theses on the topic, programming languages adopt the grammar, and losers write tests about them on dating sites. Now take your cheezburger and never touch the internets again.

1. first a sandwich, then the memes. *runs to kitchen*

2. *munches sandwich* [livejournal.com profile] serrico posted a Discworld meme that I think I've taken before, but I took it again. I'm a Carrot! )

3. [livejournal.com profile] firstgold posted a meme that's a mix of the iTunes random and fic prompts. So I stole it and here's my version: look at the songs, pick a character, I make fic! )

4. Today... I clean my room! No, really!

ETA: the songs in the meme have been uploaded to sendspace because I CAN. And also two more songs: acoustic-lounge cover of "Take Me Out", courtesy The Guillemots; Halloween, Alaska's "You're It", which reminds me of Gotye's "Night Drive" (which is Not A Bad Thing At All).

A few people on my flist have posted this, so it's MY TURN YEY.

Edit: First it was an ocelot, now it's a hare. I agree more with the hare than the ocelot.
Edit: Ha-ha! Now I'm a tiger. Grrrrrrrreat!

My apartment is half-packed, my two final term papers are half-written, the first series of the new Doctor Who is juuuust more than half-watched. Being in-between is troubling.

Many thanks, mad props and hugs to [livejournal.com profile] amyisyellow and [livejournal.com profile] philthe25th for helping move a portion of my belongings up to the new room. I have bought primer to cover the violent orange walls of the new room, but don't really know what colour to make it. I hate painting. It's tedious. However, when the walls are the most hideous shade of orange known to eyeballs, Steps Must Be Taken. Also: the milkshakes at the all-night diner at Bathurst and Dupont are awesome.

Traumatizing #1: The formerly sexy Trent Reznor shaved his head over a year ago and I just found out about it last night. On the new live DVD, he looks like Matthew Fox's pudgy uncle, which is just as appealing as it sounds (ie: not so much).

Traumatizing #2: Since, as established in the "Hollywood Babylon" episode of SPN, Gilmour Girls exists in the SPN-world, it means that there's an actor living somewhere in the SPN-world who looks one heck of a lot like Sam Winchester.

Traumatizing #3: Over on eBay, I'm bidding on yet another under-known 80s horror movie that's never been released on DVD. This one has Nazis vs monsters and Ian McKellen and Gabriel Bryne. [livejournal.com profile] shady_lane may also wish to note that the screenplay was written by some dude named Michael Mann, and went into production just before that Miami Vice show I've heard so much about. *cackles* "Traumatizing" only because I'm probably going to talk someone on this flist into watching this movie with me. *cackles more*

EDIT: added some links to pix of pre- and post- baldified TR. *sigh*

EDIT 2: American accent meme from hoskie )

According to the Animal Personality Test posted by [livejournal.com profile] hoskie, I’m either a Porcupine, a Bat or a Baboon. (The test gives you your top three animals.) Taken together, those three ‘animal personalities’ means I’m quirky, awkward and introspective. Sounds about right! ^_^

Edit: I've stolen Dimitra's iPod (OF DOOM) and am listening to Patty Griffin's "Mad Mission" over and over and over and over again. [lyrics] Must to find and download this track. Am in love with it. Has cleared away clouds of emo caused by a 10-day stretch of gross rain and snow. Dimitra and I traded mp3 players for the day and are having far too much fun with them.

Also: have my copy of My Best Friend is a Vampire back just in time for tonight's shindig. WIN!

And I'm wondering which question I missed.

Now that NBC (owned by General Electric) now owns Television Without Pity.

I am uncertain how I feel about this.

South Park character meme from hoskie )

Also: I'm still sick, but I feel less-bad than I did yesterday. Speaking of yesterday, my Mum and I found what's supposedly the first Chinese queer film... about "a policeman and his captive". ...I'm pretty sure it's not porn. It was with the dramas, not the porn, and the description makes it look EPIC. Maybe it's a cracked-out version of Ma Vie Avec Claude? Speaking of cracked-out films, Solarbabies arrived a few days ago. I'm waiting for the perfect time to watch it. ^_^

Comment here and I will:

1)Tell you why I friended you.
2)Associate you with a song/movie.
3)Tell a random fact about you.
4)Tell my first memory of you.
5)Associate you with an animal/fruit.
6)Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
7)In return, you MUST spread the chain letter love in your LJ.

Art meme

charloween: (browncoat'd winchesters)
Art meme that everyone seems to be doing:

I will icon for you. I could sketch, but you really don't want to see that. But icons I can do, and I'll offer drabbles, too. If you make a request, you must duplicate the offer. Basically, you have to do 10 sketches for friends/well meaning strangers. It shouldn't be too hard if you really half-ass it. I'm willing to bend the rules slightly, if you are not art-inclined. You could also write a minimum 100 word drabble for 10 friends/well meaning strangers.

Another fun meme brought to you by rfreebern.

...which is funny, because [livejournal.com profile] thucyken did leave me with her half-ream of unused computer paper when she ditched me for another continent.

TV:
VMars: "My Big Fat Greek Rush Week" Why didn't I ever take sociology? )

SPN: "Everybody Loves A Clown" -Yeah, but *planes crash*. -And, apparently, clowns kill people! )

And according to the Star's TV listings (which I *don't* have bookmarked, stop looking at me) I can watch Lost at either 8 or 9 tonight. This means I can dither here for a while, put off the research proposal even longer *aaand* avoid doing tomorrow's readings. All because Lost is later than anticipated.

As Colin, you are lively, friendly and inquisitive! Just make sure you don't get in people's way too much.

Ha! Ha! HA! I do go a bit insane wtih a digital camera, whenever I steal one from someone... I reject the Ravenclaw thing. :P

Quite possibly the strangest meme ever )

...& I've finished all three seasons of Arrested Development. I burned through the last season this weekend.* ♥. Next: VMars.

VMars, that is, and The Sweeney, a British cop show from the 70s, also referenced in an episode of Black Books- the one where Manny stays up all night, watches the DVD boxed set of The Sweeney and drinks espresso and ends up running around the city, impersonating a cop and carrying out the best damn interrogation that Inspector had ever seen... *sigh* Oh, the memories. I forget: it's never made quite clear who gave him the DVDs and the espresso machine for his birthday, is it? Which means: I must have been Bernard! Oh, Bernard.

I mentioned it yesterday, but I have to plug the "Nathan's my hero" clip again. Oh, Sean Maher. Oh, Nathan Fillion.

* Of course, now I've got in in my head I'll only watch DaVinci Code when and if there's a special director's cut with Ron Howard narrating the film.

1. I've been in training with this Other Job for over a month now, and today was my first real day of work. Responsibility is exhausting. I'm ready to have a big nap, now.

2. I HAVE INTERWEB! I HAVE INTERWEB! I HAVE INTERWEB! Not only that, but it is *my* interweb in *my* name, and that makes me feel so much more independant and all-growed-up than anything else I've done/had/been so far. [livejournal.com profile] thucyken gets back tomorrow night, at which point it will be *our* interweb. Until then... *bwahahaha* I be downloading. I be music posting. I have the power. And, since I have no life, I can the greatest geek-on because I can go online whenever I want for the first time EVAR.

3. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] aoshi's last music post, I'm listening to "Everybody Gets Laid" from Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter. Sigh.

4. Trying to make a new/better layout for this thing. Failing.

5. Got paid. Bought: Alien Quadrilogy, Buffy s2, Arrested Development s1 & s2, Yu Yu Hakusho eps 1-112. (See above, re: no life.)

6. After Thea's Movie Night of Doom, [livejournal.com profile] _shewalks and I found The Stills, playing a free show downtown. They played a song she liked, so we called it a win.

7. My sister and I visited my Dad yesterday for Father's Day. We get along with him when we only see him every few months, so it was quite the pleasant afternoon.

EDIT: Military jobs meme )

Life soundtrack meme stolen from [livejournal.com profile] aoshi. I found the same thing that she did: the songs don't really fit.

Movie soundtrack for your life. The rules:

1. Put your music player of choice on shuffle
2. Scene one = first song played, scene two = second, etc.
3. No cheating/skipping
4. Pass it on

Meme! )

Saw a movie last night, and I liked it very much. District 13/Banlieue 13 )

EDIT: (3:45pm) revised and expanded to make more sense. :)
