Nov. 4th, 2008 11:16 pmWhen McCain mentioned his opponent during his concession speech, the crowd booed. Classy. It was also a hard speech not to talk through, with those clumsy references to how black people are probably happy now. Or whatever he was on about.
When Obama mentioned his opponent, the crowd applauded. And how about that speech, eh? I didn't see him use notes at all. Quoting from other great speeches, pausing at all the right moments... he's a good speaker that next president.
It's so nice to have good news. Who knows what the next four years are going to bring for the US and the rest of the world? It could be terrible. But I'm just glad I stayed up to watch Obama's speech. It's a nice moment, right now.
Despite the fact that it looks like Prop 8 is going to pass (which is disgusting), maybe there's some hope for the US after all.
