charloween: (pure style)
Or is it autoarchaeology?

At any rate, I've spent a good deal of yesterday and today cleaning my room (and watching Spicks and Specks), and I've been finding some great stuff. I've only lived here about two-and-a-half years, but I've found lots of crazy things in my closet. My closet is tiny, so that's an accomplishment.

For example, if you'd asked me yesterday if I'd ever worked for Telus, I would have told you that no, of course I hadn't. However, today I found an old calendar (a Batman Begins calendar, by the by) where I'd written my hours for the one day I almost sold a cell phone.

I also found the training package from fall 2005 when I started work at the Career Centre. They made us do all the same career skills assessment that they ran on their career exploration workshops. My answers are all pretty hilarious because I'd answer everything pretty much the same, especially the parts where I'm emphatic about Not Working With People Or Caring About Them Either. (This is why I didn't last at the Telus kiosk or as a bank teller.)

In another part of the package was a list of Canadianisms ("just a sec" isn't used elsewhere?). By some coincidence, one of the daily How To articles is "How To Understand Canadian Slang". Beauty, eh?

I've also found many unused hard-bound notebooks (gifts) and many more used spiral-bound notebooks (that I bought for myself). I tried keeping a movie journal in one of them, and got as far as recording Treed Murray.

Down near the bottom of the pile is an Eye from March 2007 with Cillian Murphy's gorgeous mug gracing the cover. I haven't decided what to do with that one, yet. Mostly I keep turning around to stare at it. He's so pretty.

Mostly it's a lot of papers to throw away, but then I come across the odd yard of royal blue satin. ([profile] piratefanatic, you want some satin?)
