On January 8, I will actually do something productive. So far this weekend I've not been able to get my ass in gear to get anything done. I did go grocery shopping (and discovered that if I was ever going to poach chicken in pineapple juice again I might not add the walnuts until the end and leave the HP sauce out entirely, but that's another long story), I did submit a review for the next Excal issue, and I did manage to read the three essays for FILM 3300A 3.0; Television/Video: Theory and Criticism (henceforth "that TV class").

If you want an exciting piece, look up Richard Collins's "Structure and Historical Development of Canadian Television". A thoroughly interesting topic, presented in a way that was barely bearable. I was interested to read (in another paper) that the BBC stopped broadcasting during WW2, and that German government was able to continue broadcasting even after its transmission towers were bombed in 1943 because they'd been building their cable TV capability since 1936. When I think cable TV, I don't think pre-war Nazis.

I'm getting off-topic. I've resolved to be better this year, and so far I'm not doing too well. I know that if I don't get through at least some of this stuff (revise screenplay, finish reading the psychopharmacology text, review and summarize the many readings from last week and the week coming up) by tomorrow I'll get angry with myself and find really creative ways to procrastinate. If I'm not careful I'll spend the day making icons. I've caught up on the outstanding lj comments (so far as I can tell) I don't have any more Stargate or A Bit of Fry and Laurie to watch, and I'm going to make muffins for breakfast.

Maybe tomorrow I'll even go outside.
