charloween: (face the music)

A few of you have posted versions of this meme (which became a meme, even though it wasn't a meme to begin with), so I'll give it a go.

What song reminds you of me, and why? What are the lyrics that specifically remind you of me? I'll post what you tell me in a future music post so you can all share what the rest of you think of me.

Broken telephone meme

Ha, I'm liking the evolution of this meme, like whoa. Errr...I'll post a song after dinner.

Negetivland's "My Favourite Things", mainly because I know you like it so, and it has the great "I simply remember my favourite things and then a I feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel so BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!" But you already have that song.

Ummm...there's The Korean Bird Paintings (http://s40.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1CWBTKW9ZU3YT0O1GCE9IJ7YXT) by The Mountain Goats. Mostly because of this verse:

but I cleaned out the savings account
blew everything I had on flowers
covered up the furniture in carnations
rolled around for hours
there are those of you, who got the wrong idea right now
but man you should of seen me when I got through

It's not something you'd do, but it definitely seems in the Char spirit. Same with Song Against Sex (http://s38.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0MRIOHGH32CYK3BI8RHP23NYOK) by Neutral Milk Hotel. Which is like a Dadist poem, if that's possible.

Always aching, always heading towards
Mass suicide, occult figurines
And wasted gas-station attendants
Attending to their jobs
And a nice drive in the country
Finds a nice cliff to drop off

HAHA SKIPPING CLASS THIS WEEK! [/glee]

Hey, neat. I've wanted to hear Neutral Milk Hotel for a while. I'll have to listen tomorrow when I'm more lucid. Damn class ran late again. *throws things*

It's fun to watch it grow, mutate, eat babies. But it's hard to do, which is the cruel part.

The Man They Call Jayne - because it is Adam Baldwin with a knit hat, singing about Firefly.

Jenny Lewis, in general, reminds me of you. Especially this bit of "The Charging Sky":

If I run uphill I'm out of breath
If I spend all of my money I've got no money left
If I place all of my chips on only one bet
I'm all in

Hee! Both you and Phil gave me lyrics about having no money and/or taking a huge bite out of life. Though I haven't heard that Jenny Lewis song. But I like Jenny Lewis. :) (Night classes = ev0l, brain-sucking, soul-draining, babble-inducing.)

Also? I almost bought Full Metal Jacket the other day not because it's a) a really good movie that I've seen a few times, b) it's by one of the Great Filmmakers, or even c) it has a Revelant Message. No, I was going to pick it up because d) it has Adam Baldwin in it. I love my FF boys.

There's this one Adam Baldwin movie I'm dying to see - The Bodyguard.

OMG! ADAM BALDWIN IS IN THE CHOCOLATE WAR! I LOVED THAT BOOK.

Damn!

Hee. My Bodyguard. The other one's the one with that singer chick and that Costner guy and that Dolly Parton song. Hee.

Adam Baldwin... chocolate... *fizzle*

He could so out-sing her anyday. Plus, his hat is shiny :)
