FANMIX! FANMIX! FANMIX!

At last, the "long-awaited" (by someone, I'm sure) fanmix in celebration of everyone's favourite ghost-hunting brothers!
A Ride With My Best Friend: A Supernatural Brothers Mix
This started out being a very different mix. Originally (back in June), I wanted to do a boppy SPN mix, then one all for Dean, then one for the brothers. One thing remained the same: use songs that Dean wouldn't ever listen to. As much as possible, no metal and no classic rock. The goal: to find SPN-y songs that the SPN boys themselves would probably flick past on the Metallicar radio. This is also the first fanmix I've finished and posted...

1. Scooter, "One (Always Hardcore)"
You don't get much more hardcore than Dean. He lives and breathes supernatural, he's seen -- hell, he's killed -- the things that go bump in the night, and he has a pretty serious arsenal in the trunk.
you don't fret me and my crew, we are too H.O.T
2. Gnarls Barkley, "The Boogie Monster"
The initial inspiration for a boppy SPN mix.
I got a monster in my closet
Someone's underneath my bed
The wind's knocking at my window
I'd kill it but it's already dead
3. Of Montreal, "I Was Never Young"
Dean and Sam both had to grow up far too quickly.
I was never young even as a child
I was never young I always felt beguiled
No I just never smiled
But you you have a glow glow from an innocence I’ll never know
... Ever since I was a kid, I've been a brooding basket case
4. Art Brut, "My Little Brother"
For everyone with a younger brother. You love him, you think he's insane, but really, he's your
little brother so all you can do is watch him grow up and become a kind of cool person on his
own.
He no longer listens to A-sides
He made me a tape of bootlegs and B-sides
And every song, every single song on that tape says the same thing
It says: Why don't our parents to worry about us
5. Depeche Mode, "Never Let Me Down Again"
Sam and Dean, BFF!
I'm taking a ride
With my best friend
I hope he never lets me down again
He knows where he's taking me
Taking me where I want to be
6. Boondock Saints OST, "The Blood of Cu Chulainn"
It has that epic, road-trippin', monster-killin', montage-accompanyin' feel, ja?
instrumental
7. Happy Hardcore, "Children of the Night"
Winchesters have the knowledge and power to help people and fight off the evils that plague the
unsuspecting public. They don't have to step in to do anything but still, they do.
It's almost like what they do is a vocation, or a sacred duty. It's what they know, and it's what
they are.
We are the children of the night
We fight for the future of our nation
8. Fresh Prince and Jazzy Jeff, "Nightmare on My Street"
The thing I love (LOVE) about Dean is that he's a monster-hunter who still watches horror
movies, even though he knows what's really out there in the dark.
9. 65 Days of Static, "Drove Through Ghosts To Get Here"
Rushing to the rescue, scared but not showing it, fighting to keep evil from destroying the lives of
good people. These are the Winchester boys, and they're here to save the day.
instrumental
10. Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, "Bleeding Powers"
And because life is cruel, wanderin' gunslingers and vanquishers of darkness aren't allowed to have
a place to call their own...
And the road leads somewhere, but it's not yet to your door
11. ...No place to call their own, that is, except for their car.
New Order, "60 MPH"
Why don't we both take a ride and turn that key
We'll drive at sixty miles an hour
I'll be there for you when you want me to
I'll stand by your side like I always do
In the dead of night it'll be all right
Because I'll be there for you when you want me to
12. Poison, "Nothing But A Good Time"
It may be just me, but I really do think they enjoy their spook-hunting. At least Dean seems to be having fun, all things considered.
Ain't lookin for nothin but a good time
And it don't get better than this
bonus: Blue October, "For My Brother"
Hey man, no chick flick moments.
For my brother, who keeps me sane
And tells me everything's going to be okay
And because one fanmix isn't enough, here's another!
The Sarcastimix, a sarcastic hiatus EP.
I've had so much fun this summer thinking of all the fun things that happened post-ep. On that line, a cheesy 5-track mix for the boys, the Metallicar (RIP!) and the WB (also RIP, and when/where is SPN airing in Canada, anyway?)
Zip file: SENDSPACE LINK, mirror
1. Iggy Pop - In the Deathcar
If tuba-reggae weren't enough of a reason, it's all about Iggy Pop's spoken word stylings. Oh
baby. It's all pretty left-field stuff, just like a TRANSPORT TRUCK.
2. Alexisonfire - Accidents
Accidents, like the ones caused by getting crashed into by a TRANSPORT TRUCK.
3. The Faint - Take Me To the Hospital
...Which you'd want, after getting hit by a freakin' TRANSPORT TRUCK.
4. Cold War Kids - Hospital Beds
Assuming there's no faith healer/wizard/other miracle standing by, you'd need recuperation time,
post-TRANSPORT TRUCK.
5. Die Aerzte - Meine Ex(plodierte Freundin)
Translated: "Last night, my girlfriend exploded." The singer goes on to detail the other strange
ways his girlfriends have died, and wonders if it's maybe best for him to lay off on dating for a
while. (Tee hee. Exploding girlfriend.)
...aaaaand that's all! Enjoy, and let me know what you think!
