Jun. 9th, 2004 09:24 amBrooklin Seasonal Update:
Spring Fair carneys gone.
Early planting manure smell gone.
Haze from Toronto here.
Humidex says 40+ degrees (that's like 104, which sounds way hotter).
Survey says: Summerish. Not quite summer, but getting very summerish. Two and a half weeks until summer officially starts. From then, one week until I Complete Post-Secondary Education.
This is me being *thrilled*.
Reed's school choir has to ding at a wedding this weekend or maybe next weekend. Their choir teacher-leader-mistress-person is the one getting married I think, so they're being forced to learn happy happy quasi-religious songs.
THEREFORE we spent the evening trying to find the best songs to sing at a wedding:
Mum's vote was "Heard it Through the Grapevine," Reed liked any NIN or Oingo Boingo's "Stay" ("Oh, don't you go, won't you stay with me one more day/If we get the room one more night"); and I couldn't decide between a burlesque version of "Closer" with those neat feather fans, "Dragula" or T. Rex's "Bang a Gong (Get it On)."
As far as T. Rex goes I prefer "Ride a White Swan" but it's not nearly wedding-ish enough.
We went to steal Grant's stuff when he wasn't home but then he came home so that ruined our fun.
I just discovered they make dark chocolate KitKats. Yummy yummy dark chocolate.
