Date: 2007-01-02 02:25 pm (UTC)And Telemachus is the son of Odysseus and Penelope, but I'm not sure about other characters. Googling "Telemachus" is pretty hilarious because the sites about the saint and about Homer's character are pretty evenly interspersed in the results. You know how google gives you a bit of text from the page it's found so you can see if it's what you want? If you didn't know about the two bit Telemachuses, it would be entirely confusing.
"Telemachus was the son of Odysseus and Penelope. When he was an infant, his father pretended to be insane in order to avoid going to the Trojan War."
"The story of Telemachus and how the holding of the Coliseum Games and ... Some critics claim that Telemachus' death cannot have ended the Coliseum Games, ..."
"When Telemachus reached manhood, he visited Pylos and Sparta in search of his father"
"Patron Saint Index profile of Saint Telemachus. ... Telemachus. Also known as: Almachus"
"According to the numerous legends concerning Telemachus, he had affairs with various women, some saying Cassiphone, daughter of Odysseus by Circe... "
"The pastor in church told the story of Telemachus walking across Asia and Europe to get to Rome, where he climbed into the floor of the Colosseum... "
