Fact: my senses clearly hates me because my morning shower seemed wetter than usual.

Speaking of "senses", sensorium is one of my favourite Wanky Fine-Arts Words. Liminality is another, as is that old horse, postmodern.

Alina on reading the post: What's so weird about thinking one's shower is... waaaaait.

Wetter, my dear? How'd you manage that one?

And postmodern? Is totally the buzzword of this university. I also rather like neo-futurism. What, is the old future not good enough anymore?

I really don't know? It's one of those subliminal things, one of those thoughts that burble up to the surface. It felt different, and the only way to describe it was wetter. Ergo: my shower is wetter than normal. (Am just as confused as you. Am checking for Ancient technology in bathroom.)

Ooooh, neo-futurism! Very yes! I like futurism okay (though an environmentalist friend hates it because they're in love with industry, but I think it's a bit silly to fault a philosophy that waned decades before Silent Spring was published on its failures re: conservation and sustainability). There were some really neat oil paintings of streetcars at night at a recent exhibit I saw - really glowing, ethereal even, portraits of elements of industry. And I mean glowing in all senses of the word.

Ah, but can we ever discuss liminality without its better half "trangressiveness"? I think not.

Oh, transgressive liminality, we meet again!
