Edit: If you’re of a certain age, you’ll remember the dear Tamagotchi. 1997 was all about the purple egg-creature (or at least, mine was purple). Addictive little virtual pet... I think I still have mine somewhere at my parents’ place.
You know what's awesome? There's going to be an animated Tamagotchi movie. There is a reason this is awesome, a reason beyond mere nostalgia for something that’s barely 10 years dead.
See, Tamagotchis were made by Bandai, which recently merged with Namco. Namco, you may recall, are the people behind the Katamari games. If the Tamagotchi film is anywhere close to as cracky as a Katamari plot, even half as cracky, I’m sure it’ll make children of all ages happy. Happy and insane.
