1. Left my Metropass on the bus. Goodbye $88 pass, hello a further $120 in tickets and weekly passes from now through until April. *HEADDESK*

2. Have officially pulled out of the donship competition. All of my instincts were screaming at me to run away, and I've finally listened. Housing situation suddenly clearer; also becoming clear is the need to work full-time over the summer for to make rent for the year. Spiffy. On the upside: [livejournal.com profile] amyisyellow + [livejournal.com profile] naturelf + cohabitation? = hijinks.

3. Because of stress caused by #1 and #2, have officially fallen oh-so-very behind in schoolwork. Also: when I come home in the evening, I can barely keep my eyes open, much less do schoolwork. Am more than mildly concerned.

4. Another early Saturday morning on campus for me this week, this time being the perky Fine Arts student rep at a special breakfast with the Associate Dean of my faculty and a posse of the best and brightest applicants to Fine Arts + their parents. Our mission? To woo these spiffykeen leaders of tomorrow to the York side, in order to have a bouquet of famous people who list York as their alma mater. My faculty, the business school and the law school are, like, internationally renowned for being our own shade of spiffy, so NO PRESSURE on lil' stress-zombie me to put on a smiling face. On the upside, I'm getting paid to have breakfast with these people.

5 (or #4b). Later in the day (11am) I'm going to hang out in a Q&A for Film Studies applicants with that professor I like so much and want to be my advisor for my thesis next year. Again. NO PRESSURE and woah having to really perform. It's not that I don't like my program or my school (I really do; love it to pieces, in fact - selling is easy when you believe in the product) but it's the having to perform when I'm so very tired. So very, very tired. Solution: lots of coffee at the breakfast.

You sound like you need a hug. *HUGS*. And some good old fashioned Sam'n'Dean buttsecksin. Make sure with all your running around and awesomeness this weekend, you take some time to sleep and read porn, oks? 4/5 doctors reccomend porn as a cure for all your ills. ^^

...well frell me dead.

Hugs greatfully accepted. Today my brain died and instead of doing anything productive, I was reading an epic dS/Highlander crossover (http://freedom.aeglos.org/phelis/cat1.html) in which RayK and Methos make with the buttsecksin. In Paris. And there's slow dancing. And listening to Queen, and TRAINING that turns into SEX and I totally read it in the computer lab at school.

*Sigh* Porn = love.

Best of luck on your Shakespeare insanity, by the way. It looks absolutely maddening.

Dude. If I knew anything about Highlander, I would have to check that out. Ray K is win. (hence the reason for the icon, not because I think YOURE a freak).

Shakespeare has officially been pwnd. Ok, rather it's been finished and I've been pwnd, but we're not going to talk about that. Shhh. Not until I get my grade back, haha.

All I know about Highlander is from fic. To be more accurate: an epic (and I mean epic) X-Files, Star Trek, Highlander crossover. That, and I met Adrian Paul this one time at my friend's sword store. Ian was there. Or... around, anyway.

This paper I'm currently stuck on has made me cry three times. THREE. And I haven't even finished it!

*bundles you up into blankets and hugs* Oh, Charloween!!! I'm so sorry! I don't like hearing that you're crying! What is this paper on? I'm sure you're going to kick it's ass! Just walk away from it and have a good cry if you need to, then come back with a Dean Winchester VENGENCE. (except don't salt and burn it... that might be bad for your computer).

I was trying to address a few films from a geo-political perspective, rather than the standard feminist analysis. I kept getting sidetracked by rants and stuff and couldn't figure out what I was actually arguing. The I decided to change topics and ended up ranting about the state of experimental film exhibition and distribution verus the opportunities for queer cinema (in Toronto).

Freaking out happened. I'm going to get back on the topics tonight, but I took a few days off to panic.

Speaking of Winchesters and computers, two of my guy friends have Sammy's old laptop. :D

If it makes you feel any better, once I'm done this comment I'm going back to actively ignoring even CONSIDERING a topic for my due-in-one-week, 50%-of-my-grade Literary Landmarks term paper.

*sighs* School is mean. Sleep is much more inviting. *nods* *drags you into blankets as well*

w00t! Cuddles! *dives in*

I have lots of fun ignoring choosing topics for papers. Unfortunately, I've only got one of my final six that I haven't figured out just yet.

For interests' sake, the others (in the order they're due):
1. "Three Reasons Why Queer Cinema is Better Than R. Bruce Elder (http://www.ryerson.ca/~belder/)"
2. "Lorelei and Phyllis: The Construction of The Blonde in the Film Adaptations of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and Double Indemnity"
3. a short (5-7 pages) analysis of the theoretical place of Seah and Margie's (http://trickster.org/vids/) I-Man vid to "Kryptonite" in the context internet-based art and/or (feminist) experimental film (no official title, not just yet)
4. "Stand By For Signal: The 'Failure' of Television from a Technology Studies Perspective"
5. "Seeing the States: The Gaze of the National Film Board Post-1980"
6. ??? (topic unknown, but something to do with European Cinema, possibly New German Cinema - which would end up in more US-bashing - or possibly with the place of the pastoral in recent British apocalypse films - which would be an excuse to watch Children of Men and 28 Days Later AGAIN)

...damn. That's a lot of writing. With the exception of numbers 1 and 3, everything is supposed to be 10-12+ pages.

*brain shuts down just looking at that*

*coughs*

I only have

1) Shakespeare -- examining the minor/major character roles of Gloucester and Lear and how they affect (or are sidelined by) the main action of the play. (This one is finished)

2) Literary Landmarks --- haven't chosen my topic yet.

3) Can Lit -- haven't chosen my topic yet.

4) Arthur --- haven't chosen my topic yet.

Heee. #s 1-3 are worth 40-50% of my grade depending on the class. *facepalms* The only one that really worries me is Lit Landmarks. But did I work on it today? Did I get started sifting through the mountain of research I need for it? Nope and sure as hell no.

I slept. And then I arted for a friend's bday on monday. Then I wrote a mini assignment for Arthur. Now.... I'm watching Dennis Leary on TV. Then I shall sleep again.

And to make it worse, I keep watching clips of Bill Bailey (http://youtube.com/watch?v=82HHglwXA24) instead of getting anything done. *shame*

Dude... what... what WAS that?? Because it sounded like the German Hokey Pokey, but.... dude??

I finished my Lit Landmarks paper today. *glee* Now I can relax for one week. *stretches*. Except that Alby is going to be here and making me the opposite of relaxed. But it's a nice thought, non?

Bill Bailey is a musician/comedian who came to my attention via Black Books (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utftP4dkg7k). V. hilarious show. Bernard (Dylan Moran) and Manny (Bailey) have his bizarre relationship that (depending on the episode is) shop owner and employee, dysfunctional roommates, old married couple, father/son(/daughter), and whatever other combinations involve one partner being charmingly drunken and abusive and the other mild-mannered and intelligent. Plus it's funny.

I applaud your ability to be productive!

I hate losing things, because I feel like a primo idiot and I have to spend more money... *argh* I also managed to leave my USB key stuck in the computer in the FASAM centre. Already overdue paper = on that USB key. FUCK.

I wish there was a doctor who could prescribe cuddles, hugs and a vacation because I'd be more than up for that. *SIGH*

I think next month I'm going to get something pierced just so I can have a way to attach the metropass to my body.

Hugs greatfully accepted, sleep eventually anticipated, and fic gleefully read. :D
