Edit: For those on my flist who are into Robert Sean Leonard as an adorkable teen vampire, eBay has two copies of My Best Friend Is A Vampire up for sale. Just, you know, FYI.

Edit-edit: [livejournal.com profile] starsoohpretty linked to this article which has caused great mirth and consternation. The part about how Straight men, it seems, have neural circuits that prompt them to seek out women; gay men have those prompting them to seek other men. Women’s brains may be organized to select men who seem likely to provide for them and their children caused the consternation, and mirth comes from the part where [livejournal.com profile] starsoohpretty and I started on about Caveman Lurg and Caveman Vlurg and who was a better provider. ...okay, you had to be there.

But then I kept reading and found this part: A somewhat more straightforward clue to the origin of homosexuality is the fraternal birth order effect. Two Canadian researchers, Ray Blanchard and Anthony F. Bogaert, have shown that having older brothers substantially increases the chances that a man will be gay. Older sisters don’t count, nor does it matter whether the brothers are in the house when the boy is reared. And I'm obviously starved for more Heroes because I went immediately to Peter and Nathan. *hangs head* Yeah, probably going to the special hell.

Oh, Stargate...

That's it. I'm going to push on to the end of SGA this weekend. It shall be done. *nods*

Oh boy! I wanna hear your thoughts on the last ep. Mmmmm, Stargate!
From: [identity profile] naturelf.livejournal.com
Only a slight problem: I don't have "The Tao of Rodney" downloaded and I refuse to watch the episodes out of order (though, on second thought, what does it really matter, I mean, it's Stargate for Pete's sake).

Instead, I've been having lots of fun with the SGA commentaries. "38 Minutes" is both amusing and painful because those early eps were so awkward and there really isn't anything good to say about SGA because it's so formulaic and by-the-numbers; they point out the funny moments, give a few anecdotes and spend the rest of the time filling the dead air. Sigh. Clearly, today I woke up cynical. But I also have a very soft and fluffy (hand-knit by me) blanket. So. It's a snuggly, under-caffeinated cynicism.

I've yet to get to the commentaries, mostly 'cause I just haven't downloaded them yet. Will get there eventually.

On "The Tao of Rodney:" it's one of my all time favorite eps, for lots and lots of reasons. Check your inbox in the nearish future. :)

Also, knitted blanket? WIN. I'm working on one right now, for neighbors who are moving across the country. It's taking me a while, but it's fun! Wheeee! Knitting!

The commentary for "Conversion" was BRILLIANT. The others... made me a bit angry. But hearing Joe Flanigan (politely) bitch about how his character is boring and empty and never gets to grow was just so very fantastic. And Joe Flanigan and David Hewlett shouldn't be allowed to play together. EVER.

I used size 17 needles on my blanket so it's light and airy and because it's a double thickness it's also snuggly and warm. I mean... I meant to design it like that because I'm obviously so good at this. :D

Have snickerd my way through the first third of the "conversion" commentary. *love*

Size 17 needles. I think you're on to something. Actually, I'm sure you are, as teh three rows I've knitted on the New Blanket (called such until it has a better identifier), using my new 17s, are quite fun. Yay knitting!

Like I said, Joe Flanigan and David Hewlett shouldn't be allowed to play together unless I'm there, too. I mean. *koff*

I'm a very impatient person, which is a bad quality for a knitter. So it's chunky wools and huge needles and I'm a happy camper. There's a picture in my facebook of a blanket I made over the summer with the big needles. Um. Link. Link. Link.
