After class today, Amy and I decided that Genghis/Chinkiz/Jengizzz Khan ** was totally better than Santa, 'cause he promised ponies to everyone.

Nah, he wanted to. He had a vision from heaven that he should go forth unto the world and kill everyone and raze the civilizations of the world and turn it all into a huge pasture for Mongol children to ride their ponies. ...at least, that's how our professor put it. WIN.

So he'd kill everyone except for the Mongol children and himself, and then give them the pasture and the ponies to play with? SWEET!

Pretty much. More than once, he'd besiege a town and when it fell, he'd put everyone there to the sword. Then he'd send his men in again and kill all the cats and dogs. His bloodthirstiness was notable even for a time when it was common and accepted to slaughter entire villages when you raided them.
