My two roommates and I all have (or is it each have?) papers due tomorrow, and none of us have our papers done or possess the will to get them done. Mongolian history is so interesting in lecture but when you have to write the paper it's pretty dull.

In hopes of procrastinating further, the three of us sat on the floor in our hallway to talk about the book we read as pre-teens. Sweet Valley Twins. Babysitters Club. Oh the shame....

And now I've turned to the tried-and-true meaningless-post-on-lj to take up another few minutes before I go back to it. LAME. Maybe now I'll watch more Jonathan Creek. It's fun crack:

I don't quite know what to do with that image. I tend to keep my knives in a drawer, but I suppose stabbing them into a melon and keeping the melon in a bed works too.

It's part of the really strange side of Jonathan Creek - I think they meant that part as humour. See, Jonathan and Maddie are staying at this little inn by the seaside 'cause it's close to their crime scene. In the night, someone sneaks into Jonathan's room and leaves the knife-in-melon as a warning to him to back off. To be honest, I would have left a threatening note 'cause knife-in-melon was never my top choice for intimidation. Well, now it is.

Though, I jokingly threatened to buy live crickets and stick them into my roommate's bed if she crossed me, and then when she gave me a funny look, I replied that it was either that or ketchup in her shoes... so... what I'm saying is... maybe it's only a few steps to knife-in-melon. STILL.

Also? I found an adorable making-of featurette for the series, the one that told me it was Alan Davies's first screen role. I also learned that for the first day of shooting, because there wasn't much for him to do, some people on the crew thought he was a lazy junior crew guy, rather than the actor playing the title character. Lolz.

I feel rather like that beknifed* melon right now. Have been working on NoveList since 10am. Stopped twice for 45 minuets. I have lists and subject headings and field codes coming out of my ears.

I'm rather fond of slugs in the pillowcase. Unsuspecting victim can't tell the slugs are there until the poor sot lays down and SQUISH!

Ahem.

*makes grabby hands at teevee* Oh, how I'd rather be watching and knitting. Alas, I'm not. So. Much. NoveList.

*inventing words is FUN!

Oh, tell me about it. (Also: there's an icon waiting to happen.) I've got this short paper due tomorrow (and by short I mean about 1500 words) - I've got an okay paper that I could hand in, but it's crying out for another go-over and a few more linking sentences. However. I'm tired and still mildly hung over.

But really, when a white kid from the 21st century is asked to compare and contrast pagan hordes and slave soldiers from 13th-century Asia, all bets are off. They rode horses. They're all dead now. WHATEVER. I like history but I'm really glad I had my film theory epiphany and didn't become a history major.

Also: Is it bad that I was reading some astronomy-related news that mentioned the Draco constellation and a Scorpius star and I only remembered that part of the story?
