The Adventure of the Greatest SPN Episode That Never Happened (aka The Fake SPN Movie) did not go as planned, alas.

The Plan was to watch My Bloody Valentine (starring Jensen Ackles) and then head to see Friday the 13th (starring Jared Padalecki). Tee hee, hilarious, etc.

Both [livejournal.com profile] firstgold and I are suffering from mild death plague, and due to a reluctance to go all the freaking way out to Scarborough to catch them both at the same theatre, the timing of the two movies was such that we had to see Friday the 13th first.

If it was a bad movie, there'd be more to say about it. It was a dull, boring movie. Over at my Twitter feed I rated it a "meh/10". It's not even worth figuring out reasons why it was boring. God, it was so boring. Yes, there were lots of boobs, but even the boobs were boring boobs. (Watching Dick Casablancas get an arrow through his head was fairly entertaining, as was the fact that the movie was just like a girl!Dean fic I read once where Sammy had to save his sister.)

By all accounts, My Bloody Valentine is a watchable and fun little movie, but even the prospect of Ackles dressed like a sheriff for a whole movie wasn't enough to make us care. Lesson learned: this is the kind of wacky plan that works for a Movie Night of Doom, not a going-to-theatres kind of thing.

As such, I propose a Fake SPN Movie Movie Night Of Doom (with, maybe, Devour and others added to the mix?). Friday the 13th will be present, albeit enthusiastically fast-forwarded.

So thanks, Friday the 13th, for sucking all the fun out of a Master Plan. (We ended up watching an episode of Leverage. And thanks for the heads-up, [livejournal.com profile] piratefanatic, it's quite a fun show!)

Ack! Of course Mark Sheppard is in it. Is the second episode any better? (It's worth watching BSG just to see Mark Sheppard not play Badger. He's still a bit slimy, but they actually give the character motivation and backstory and stuff.)

I think so. Have you watched the first episode? In the second, they get into the active-handler relationship, and there's some neat stuff that goes on with that.

Even if they did go the "A Most Dangerous" game route with the main plot. WTF Joss?

No, not yet. The premise really doesn't interest me. Unfortunate, but true. I'm going to need to hear that it's fabulous before getting into it. This coming month I just don't have time for meh television.

*nods* I think it could have used a couple of more goes around the revision wheel ... especially for the first episode.

The second episode showed promise though.

I've heard the third episode is Le Crap, so I think I'll be staying away from this one for now. Possibly for ever, alas.

The logic in that episode was definitely lacking. It was like ... of the extreme makes-no-sense variety.

Have you seen this Penny Arcade (http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2009/2/27/) comic? Sums up my thoughts pretty well, I think.

Yes, yes I did see the comic. I'm glad that I'm not alone in wandering away with suspicious glances over my shoulder.

And yet, I will continue to watch Dollhouse. *sighs*
