So I think the best thing about the Oscars is that even though the ceremony took 3.5 hours, it totally didn't feel like it.

I don't know how they managed it, but it was quite a nice change.

Also, I was in high school I first saw a Danny Boyle film and fell in love with his directing. I'm so happy his film won so often! \o/

EDIT: This was, without a doubt, one of the highlights of the show. Thanks to hoskie for the link. It's so great I watched it a second time. :)

I watched ten minutes of the Academy Awards and it felt like 3.5 hours. I just can't stomach awards shows. I checked out the list of winners via IMDb, that's as involved as I like to get.

... I'm sad I missed James Franco and Seth Rogen's little bit as Dale and Saul. It'll be on YouTube soon enough though. ;P

We had four of us watching together, complete with snacks, snark and ballots. It was quite pleasant! This year's show was a lot less stiff and awkward - and Hugh Jackman was in full Broadway mode. Hee.

The James Franco and Seth Rogen thing was a definite highlight. If you ever wondered what Dale and Saul think of Milk, well, the answer is in that clip. (Saul gets a thinky-face and starts to snuggle up to Dale.)

I think so - I liked the staging, and I liked Steve Martin telling Tina Fey to not fall in love with him. There were so few awkward moments, it was great.
