How I spent my yesterday:

Awoke. Breakfast en route to class (earlier than the birds, dammit). Photography class fills me with feelings of awe and inadequacy. Grabbed a snack with girl from class. Return to room. Was lugging camera around needlessly. Got phone message from Mum (she called from work) and an ecard from same. *danced* [livejournal.com profile] evil__muffin was online and we talked about the weekend and birthday cakes and ice cream. More class; one that makes my brain rot. Okay, people: if the professor answered the question (in the lecture) that you just asked (in tutorial), why are you bringing it up again? Repeat for an hour. I drew swirlys on my page instead of writing down the same crap I took notes on earlier in the day.

Once more back to room, feeling homicidal. Found Emma. Collected birthday greetings. Then we Farscape'd. Then Millennium'd. She went to class and I read about medicine and medical traditions from the dawn of civilization to Galen. Nature of Science is a fascinating class so far, but I'd like to slaughter the people who sit in the back half of the classroom and talk through the entire lecture. *sigh* But there was this cool diagram he kept referring to, with the four element, humours, etc. all tied in with everything else. According to the chart, those born under Libra, Scorpio, or Sagittarius fit this general profile:
humour: black bile
season: autumn
stage of life: adult (as opposed to infant, adolescent or old age)
organ: spleen
element: earth
time of day: afternoon
personality: stubborn, insolent
mood: melancholic
apostle: John (yay apocalypse?)
planet: Saturn
musical mode: mixolydian
... and the quality of that temperament is cold and dry. So I guess if you want to kill a Libran, stick them in a hot and moist environment in the springtime. And something about blood. Yay modern medical science.

They offer kendo Saturday mornings. I may partake.

Right. So I got back from class, there was another message from my family on my phone (less tuneful than mum's earlier version). I called them back, got Reed, and proceeded to distract him from his homework for a while. He's got a fairly good shot at this other band doing a blues-funk thing, from what I can tell. The guy he's going to meet used to be in a band called Crisis, that played the night of Fear Forever's debut. After he hung up, those who are becoming the usual suspects gathered for more television-on-DVD.

I thought of another way to procrastinate (tee hee). So I'm going to continue to procrastinate until 6:30, when I actually have to be anywhere today.
