More pictures, this time of Chicago

I've been a bad blogger - I did Something Interesting a few months ago (ie went to Chicago, briefly) and never posted the pictures. This is all the more embarrassing because the lovely
talitha78 was kind enough to show us around and I never mentioned it again. D:
So.
Glowing balls:

GIANT BEAN:

Reality (YMMV):

After a week of no sleep at a conference, this is what the world looks like even without a giant bean's help:

THE BANDSHELL HAS LANDED:

Chicago nightlife is so good even the fountains get in on the party:

Standing on the bridge-that-isn't-a-bridge-it's-a-sculpture-ha-take-that-city-ordinances (if I remember correctly):

We were mostly there in the dark, which isn't so good for photo-tourism. But who knows - this year at VVC maybe it won't be deathly humid and I'll leave the a/c and get out to the Art Institute? One day I'll have to visit Chicago properly, rather than always just ogling architecture as I pass through.
Thanks again to
talitha78, without whom the 14-hour layover would've been spent either a) wandering aimlessly or b) at the airport.
