Am trying to find my academic brain after leaving it idle for too many weeks (bad choice, bro). I think it ran off with a few other mixed metaphors and I doubt I'll see it again.

I've just spent a good 45 minutes peering at site maps and running out of search terms to find the academic citation guide for fanworks that's rumoured to exist via the OTW. I'm starting to think I mis-heard and it's a rumoured future academic citation guide.

Not a good start, spending this much time looking for what I thought would be a simple find. *headdesk* Have tweeted @OTW_news in hopes I've overlooked something obvious.

Speaking of Twitter, at this moment my friends in Leam are watching The OC, Singing in the Rain and an old Batman movie (different people, different TVs) and tweeting back and forth about them. I'd never thought of The OC like a demented Anne of Green Gables before... (I'm really looking forward to being back next weekend.)

Plus, I called my airline and found out I have 5kg less luggage allowance going back to the UK than I did coming over. (And, for the record Mr Call Centre: I'm not stupid because I can't tell you the "800 number" of my flight on my e-ticket. I don't have an e-ticket and the flight number printed on the itinerary you sent me has no eights in it. Thanks for insulting me. I hope working at a call centre is the best thing to happen to you today.)

The temptation to crawl back into my Kindle for the next few days is strong, very strong.

There's a style guide for the journal, Transformative Works and Cultures, that includes guidelines on how to cite fan works in TW&C articles; would that help? It's not exactly an OTW thing, in other words, exactly. If that would help, I can send it to you, but not for a few days, as I'm away for the holiday weekend and the work files are not *g*
