I bought some boots (tall, dark brown leather, flat heels, comfy-looking) on eBay a few weeks ago, but they're taking their time to get to me. I anticipate them.

Last night I played Settlers of Catan for the first time. From set-up to me saying, "I had fun but I must leave now" FOUR HOURS had passed. Four. Freaking. Hours. Yes, it was fun (for the first three hours) but yikes.

I've been up to campus every day this week, but still only managed to get part of the way through the writing I wanted to. It's frustrating. On the other hand, three days of slow work is far better than three days of no work. (Also, most of the vids I'm mentioning seem to be dark. I have to find a way to work in Jarrow's "Give It Up"...)

Tonight I'm planning something radical: being asleep in bed before midnight.

Finally, if you haven't been following [personal profile] copperbadge's A Cheaper World I encourage you to do so. There's usually one strip in every bunch that makes me LOL or snort in a massively undignified manner.

*snugs* I agree - three days of slow work is better than no work at all.

The screening of Hard Core Logo was fantastic. They've remastered/restored the film so it looked awesome. Hugh Dillon and Bruce McDonald were there and did a Q&A at the end. Hard Core Logo II was pretty good as well - very different feel from the original, but there was a lot of Julian Richings, which I'm okay with.

Uh ... I think I was talking about this one movie Hugh Dillon was in ... ;)

When the film was introduced (HCL not HCL II), they were talking about how HCL has become part of Canadian mythology and that people have taken it, and made it their own (in a way) through fan fic, fan vids and such. (Did you know someone has adapted it to a play?)

During the restoration/remastering process, a monograph about the film was written by Paul McEwan, co-published by TIFF and the University of Toronto Press. I'm going to try and track it down.
