The other day I got an email with a typo "in the man time" where the sender* meant "in the mean time".

*A man in a position of power, who also needs to use capital letters in emails.

I've opened the email no fewer than two times since then, giggling at the typo and saying "in the man time" in a deep voice under my breath and generally finding it hilarious.

Well, that's because it IS hilarious. As soon as I read it here, *I* said "in the MAN TIME" in a deep voice under my breath. :)

I ran into the sender at an event yesterday afternoon and don't quite have the kind of relationship with him where I could tease hum about it. But I did reference the email to let him know I read it...

I just read the first line, giggled, then said out loud and in a deep, manly voice, "in the man time!"

Then I read the rest of your post and LOLed hardcore.

Without making him too identifiable, he's not the most testosterone-laden gent. It's good to know "in the man time" is funny in any context. :)
