Nov. 2nd, 2011 02:09 pmAm avoiding campus today (still feeling a bit rough). Have to get there soon, though, to do battle with contemporary continental philosophy (Ranciere!).
Failed to figure out how to graft-in-pattern so my infinity scarf has a three-needle bind-off seam but after sitting in the corner for a week it's done.
Watching QI (with Brian Cox, Sue Perkins and Ross Noble) with my flatmate. Being a student = watching TV in the middle of a Wednesday afternoon. Well, for her it's technically research and I'm technically helping.
Yup.
Oh yeah: KT Tunstall was amazing. Sure, it sucks to have to get people to stop taking pictures, but I could mostly pay attention to the stage. (Cheaper than paying for the ticket, anyway.) And it's incredible how one person alone on stage can capture the attention of so many people. Delightful!

Date: 2011-11-03 12:31 pm (UTC)I did end up going to campus for the Ranciere thing, and a few of us intimated that Dude Who's a Hater should STFU with his tiny misdirections and diversions. The point isn't to show us how worldly you are by how disdainful you are, it's to understand why a thinker might be getting so much attention by reading and understanding his work. Ass. Anyway. Afterwards there was a general grump about his "contributions", and we all felt reassured.
