charloweenToday I joined a band. A Latin band. A 10-person Latin band. As a singer/percussionist. We packed ourselves into a tiny room for three hours this evening so the four new members could learn the set. We have a gig on Thursday. I haven't been on stage (if you don't count conference papers or teaching) in nearly ten years. My voice is rusty but it mostly works.
Good thing one doesn't need to know how to speak Spanish or Portuguese to sing in Spanish and Portuguese.
Between now and Thursday I've got to learn a pile of songs and prepare for seminars on Malcolm X. And there's a methods seminar this week BAH that's tomorrow gone.
Tired now.
