...I'll see you in March?
Feb. 17th, 2012 10:03 amToday:
- read chapter for teaching next Thursday. (Romcoms: many types of love, many types of marriage, many neuroses of Woody Allen and/or the sexual revolution. I take my students' silence as comprehension, not confusion.)
- *sigh* writing a chapter *sigh*
- figure out how/why to introduce this other Introduction chapter from a book for a research meeting in less than a week (I was volunteered to do so; not really sure what to do with it. Other than: summarize main arguments, suggest why it's useful for the group, rant about how people studying audiences have perpetrated an update of the hateful term “prosumer” to “produser”. *shudder*)
- leaving drinks for flatmate who's moving out
- listening to last.fm's surprisingly extensive collection of Scandinavian electronica/hip-hop/rap tunes ILU last.fm
Tomorrow:
- buy a lamp, or maybe two
- make frowny-faces at my chapter, the introduction of the Introduction, and that other article/report I'm supposed to be writing with a colleague. (dear academics, when does research actually happen?!)
- VVC SIGNUPS!!!
Sunday through Tuesday:
- paid work as a string lobbyist (dear academics, okay, I see my problem re: time for research)
Wednesday:
-
sesquipedaliatic arrives
- also the lecture and screening for teaching; also probably fretting about the introduction to the Introduction
Thursday:
- teaching romcoms
- research meeting; introducing the Introduction; hoping to not look like the super-n00by junior academic that I am
-
sesquipedaliatic gets ignored for most of the day. :(
Friday:
- meeting with supervisor
Saturday:
- watching ALL THE TEEVEE with
sesquipedaliatic :D
- soon-to-be-former-flatmate's back in town to play a gig, so it's BACK TO CAMPUS for that.
Sunday through Tuesday:
- *vague handwave* :D :D :D :D
Wednesday:
-
sesquipedaliatic goes home :(
- lecture/screening/teaching cycle starts again
