Mar. 1st, 2012 03:23 pmI've had a few weeks of excitement, but now it's back to reality.
Teaching today: The Kids Are All Right. Teaching next week: The Kingdom.
There's a rumour that we're getting new office equipment, so the fail-prone printer and laggy computers might finally be replaced! I don't know if this'll come to pass, but it's something to look forward to.
Tomorrow is Kill The To-Do List day. (We'll see, to-do list, we'll see.)
It was really foggy this morning, but just as I made it to campus the sun burned through everything and has given us a glorious spring day. I've been staring at it through my office window when I wasn't teaching.
A student wanted to talk to me about her essay (last week) but she was sick or whatever (didn't email in advance to cancel), so when we met today I wasn't expecting miracles (and her printer was broken so she didn't have any notes). I didn't really know what to say. She wants to answer the question about violent films vs films about violence, but couldn't answer when I asked her what her argument was. (The question says "discuss", lol undergrad trap.) We'll see what she comes up with...
My office-mate seems to have designed himself a project where he has to watch every dreadful 90s Harrison Ford film. (Fair enough. I keep watching Pros "for research". Ours is an odd discipline.)
