What, exactly, makes a match into a safety match? Are they neutered somehow? Are there packs of rogue matches roaming the land, striking fear into the hearts of law-abiding matches? Is it the type of wood used? Are there certain types of wood (other than, like, balsa or ebony) that are completely unusable for matches? I may need to do some googling.

All I know about matches is that they used to be called Lucifers because of the sulfurous smell Victorian matches had when struck.

If they're anything like child-proof prescription bottles, they're impossible for adults to use, but they strike up for the kiddies just fine.

If I were tied to a bunch of TNT, and a madmad was about to light a fuse, and the match didn't light, I'd feel pretty damn safe. Then again, if I were alone in the wilderness, then I wouldn't feel safe if my match didn't light up no matter what. PS - Did you get my email?

I may forgo anime in favour of going to see the Factory Theatre production of Bigger Than Jesus. I'm not sure when I'm working next weekend, and since weekends are all I work, I'll need to secure employment THEN plan socialities.

The safety matches have a small coating that ensure your matches won't light if the pack fell onto the ground, also they're made out of wod so that they won't bend like cardboard.
