I don't imagine Skyfall wanted me to think about it too much, and I'm inclined to extend it that courtesy. Sure, its treatment of women was far from stellar, and I don't really care much about the angst of privileged white guys (or empires), but it was fairly arch and ridiculous throughout.

I liked it loads more than, say, Dark Knight Rises mostly because it was willing to give me an honest laugh (and more than one eye-roll).

(Best part: the audience's reaction to Craig's line about Bond's-probably-been-with-a-man was a supportive knowing chuckle and not at all awkward no-homo giggles. Thank you, 2012.)


((Also during one of Ralph Fiennes's scenes in my head I was singing "Voldemort, Voldemort, Voldy Voldy Voldy Voldemort". So. That happened.))
