Unrelated A: shampoo at Lush, so frustrating. In normal drug stores, you pick up a bottle of shampoo, choose between NORMAL, OILY or DRY/DAMAGED and go for it. In Lush today, I resorted to saying But I just want something that makes my hair clean. Since I stopped using shampoo in bottles for vague environmental reasons I'd feel I'd failed if I gave up on solid shampoo, but honestly: why do I need a ten-minute conversation with an employee to find something that makes my hair clean? Waaaah.

Unrelated B: knitting socks is hard when, in a single day, while working on a single sock, I snap two sets of KnitPro needles. Of course I don't have any receipts for replacements. Nothing says "Buy Addi!" quite like snapping a needle halfway through the row.

Unrelated C: took a stack of dresses to a charity shop this morning. I'd been offered help listing them on eBay but that sounded like too much work. Dropping them off didn't feel as good as I wanted it to.

Unrelated D: working on 'quality' TV has affirmed my love of episodic series, especially police procedurals. Especially when so many 'quality' shows are about angry or depressed people. Why do I want to spend my time with that?

Unrelated E: I was okay on Wednesday, but today I'm getting very anxious about housing stuff (still nothing signed, I'm tired of having to coordinate everything, am reconsidering moving just to assert control and feel settled), and about my chapter (handing in structure next week, not confident in the structure). Just want to hide, watch TV and knit but I've done that for most of the last week.

FWIW I've used solid shampoo for years and I don't waver from Karma Koomba. 1 bar lasts me at least six months.

I bought that one this time. Jumping Juniper is okay, Squeaky Green is full of salad and makes my hands itchy, so I'm onto a third one.

She tried to sell me one with extra chunks of cocoa butter, because she didn't pay attention when I said I was having issues with heavy residue left where I didn't lather enough, or whatever I'm doing wrong.

And, got a call from the landlord - things seem cool, and I'm not to stress out. And then we had rehearsal and I used an app to write out harmonies so we don't waste time every week reminding the ex-choirgirl (me) how to do the descant.

(Speaking vaguely of Unrelated D: I finally finished reading the Canadian Cylons essay! [Sometimes it takes me a while to do things.] I enjoyed his point, because it was hilarious. I especially liked how he mentioned at one point that the ~perfection~ of BSG's illustration of Canadian/American trade/culture/identity issues JUST MIGHT be an unintentional coincidence.)

At least, my 7" tablet continues to mesh itself into my life like it was meant to be there?

(Yes! Just re-watched episodes with UBC, prominent Scotiabank logos, and SFU. Once they leave Caprica the location LOLs do decrease. Also, I'm fond of any criticism that doesn't assume all the connections the critic has made were intentional. Is this an appropriate place to mention how uncomfortable I am with "Whedon studies".)
