Today I flew to Cork, saw posters for a Museum of Butter and Pride and Prejudice: The Musical, visited said museum, had a lovely sunlight drive through Irish countryside, checked in to a delightful B&B (with kittens!) ate takeaway fish & chips on an empty beach while the sea made little roaring noises (a few short miles, apparently, from where the fish I was eating had been recently swimming), then went to a pub where there was live music.

And then tomorrow my friends get married.

None of today was done alone (except for the catch-bus-at-0545 part), so I didn't spend too long at the pub...

That sounds like the absolute perfect day.

It was really nice! And the wedding was nice, too: a civil ceremony, in the venue of their choosing, which in Ireland is apparently still quite new.

The bits of Ireland I've seen look lovely to visit, but I don't know about living there...

It's reassuring to find out for myself that everyone was right about Ireland: Dublin is nice, but not-Dublin is even better.
