Feb. 24th, 2014 10:31 amI haven't posted in a while - I'm still here, still writing, still juggling academic work with surprisingly mundane theatre work.
On Saturday night I watched the whole first series of the BBC Wallander remake. I only meant to watch the first bit of the first episode, but... eh. Something about its tone and how it's shot just clicked with whatever headspace I was in - maybe I've seen too many crime shows, but there was something peaceful about this. Lots of Kenneth Branagh looking sad, standing in a field.
Apparently I find Kenneth Branagh looking sad endearing/amusing? Idek. Also by the end of the series I decided that Martinsson's probably got a sulky rage diary about how Wallander keeps asking him to do impossible and/or intensely boring things. (I accept all fic recs.)
Earlier in the week I saw The Lego Movie which I liked for lots of reasons. I saw it with fellow film/tv postgrads, so we had to have a drink after and talk out all its complexities and ambiguities. And not sing The Song at each other.
*waves arms* Three more weeks of term.
