PART A

Dawn of the Dead was incredibdibdibly cool. In fact, it was far better than any remake-of-a-sequel has the right to be. (There was another r-o-a-s recently, I'm sure... but of WHAT?? Brain-fried.)

Next weekend: Eternal Sunshine yadda yadda. Been looking forward to it for quite a while.

PART B

I like Coheed and Cambria.

They are playing a Toronto date in 2 weeks.

Problem is, Reed has a school concert the same night. I like jazz but I like rock better. Last year I blew off one of his shows to see Matt Good. This year I want to blow off the show to see Co&Ca.

Guilt!

GUILT!

A few years ago Ours played TO and I missed it (found out the day after). They haven't been back so far as I can tell. This may be the same case. I love my brother and I know that he's an excellent musician but I see him play all the time. I am going to see him in Fiddler, and I would never dream of missing that. All I'd miss is the annual final jazz concert thing. There will be one next year.

I know I can get there and back under my own power (er... with taxis and subways and other fancy toys. go payday.) so it's not an issue of whether or not Mum will 'let me' go. I'll do what I want. What I want is what's tripping me up. Reed concert: he missed many of mine in high school. Co&Ca concert: might not happen again in a very long time.

Deciding factor: is anyone else going? If I'd be going by myself it would be less fun than with people. If people are going then I'd be spending the entire night at the Lviv Hall in Oshawa twitching and watching the show at the Phoenix in my head. I know I'm sad.

PART C

My throat is swolen... feels like someone's tried to remove it though my ears. No wonder I've been so tired lately.

I know someone who saw it and she thought it was wacky and very very sad. Now I want to see it even more, because i really respect her opinion.

Yes, go into the Light...

Go see "Eternal Sunshine." Go for the sarcastic title, stay for the unabashed sweetness, which is neither saccarine nor sarcastic. *sigh* I wanna go see it again.

will do, will do

would I be right in assuming the science-fiction side is downplayed?

The trick is finding someone to go with... I just can't get the hang of seeing a movie by myself.

Oh yes. It is very convincingly set in the present. The brain-wiping stuff happens with computers, so there are nerdy techies doing the work. That concept is both comfortingly familiar and at the same time, kinda creepy. But only now that I'm thinking of it... it didn't occur to me to be creeped out during the movie, I was too busy being enthralled.

I think it would be best to see the movie with someone special, even just a really good friend if you don't have a date. I think watching this movie by yourself might just make you feel lonely, because the main character is pretty lonely.
